YAMA AND NIYAMA PRECEPTS FROM PATANJALI SUTRA SADHANA

Sri Hanuman The observance of the Yama and Niyama precepts from Patanjali Sutra Sadhana chapter ll 30 32 are the ethical foundation on wich lies the " method " . Indeed it is the method per excellence manifested externally and rooted inwardly . The sutra 33 from 1st chapter Samadhi translates perfectly the state of mind requested for a Sadhana . All surrendering arises on account of what has been referred above . The specificities of certain Sadhana , Tantrik for instance respect those principles as fundamental in order to transcend them . Practically , in opening one's mind by cultivating interest in comparative studies wich has no other aim than sharpening discernment instead of looking for certitudes to cover ignorance . Followed by a time for incubation and pondering . Silent Meditation surrendered by Nature is a must when possible. Regular purificatory acts like puja rituals , Seva ( service , charity ) , fasting help to focus on a path . Karma Yoga ( facing mundane realities with dignity and responsibility ) . The program is already copious by itself ... Inwardly the Seeker ( Sadhak ) surrenders for he knows : not to be the doer .
